Insurance & Fees
I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and MedCost insurance plans. For Blue Cross Blue Shield, I am in-network with PPO plans only (you can confirm this by checking your insurance card). I am not able to accept EPO plans (which are common with many marketplace plans), and I do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.
In many cases, I am able to accept plans under BCBS and Aetna networks, including Federal BCBS, Anthem, Meritain, and others. However, coverage can vary, so it is important to verify your specific plan.
Before reaching out to schedule, please contact your insurance company using the phone number on the back of your card and ask:
Am I an in-network (a covered provider) for your plan?
Do you have a copay, deductible, or coinsurance for outpatient mental health services?
What will your estimated cost per session be?
Understanding Your Costs
My fees are:
$175 for the initial session
$150 for each session after
Insurance companies determine what portion of these fees they will cover. While I cannot quote your exact out-of-pocket cost, you will see the breakdown on your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) after each session.
Here are a few helpful terms:
Deductible: The amount you must pay out-of-pocket before your insurance begins covering services.
Copay: A fixed amount you pay per session (for example, $25 per visit).
Coinsurance: A percentage of the session fee you are responsible for after your deductible is met (for example, 20%).
Out-of-pocket maximum: The maximum amount you will pay in a year before your insurance covers 100% of eligible services.
Important Notes
You are ultimately responsible for any portion of fees not covered by your insurance. The only amount you are not responsible for is the difference between my standard fee and the contracted rate set by your insurance company.
Please notify me immediately if your insurance changes at any time. Additionally, I do not work with clients who carry two active insurance plans, so it is important to be aware of your coverage status.
