A Transformative Path to Truly Knowing Yourself

How IFS Works
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is based on the idea that we all have different “parts” within us—like the inner critic, the people-pleaser, the protector, or the wounded child. These parts aren’t bad; they’re trying to help in their own ways, often based on past experiences. IFS helps you identify and understand these parts with curiosity and compassion, rather than judgment. As you get to know them, you can begin to unburden the pain they carry and reconnect with your core Self—the calm, confident, wise part of you that can lead your internal system with clarity. Through this process, healing happens from the inside out. -
IFS is one way to conceptualize parts work (and what people are most familiar with). You may hear other language like inner child or shadow work.
I do not get hung up on identifying/labeling parts based on their roles (IFS), such as whether it is a firefighter, exile, etc.
Parts work is often an integrative approach we combine with the other work we are doing.
-
When we do IFS work together, you can expect a gentle, respectful process that moves at your pace. We’ll explore the different parts of you, not to fix or get rid of them, but to get curious about what they’re trying to do for you. You might be surprised how much wisdom these parts hold once they feel safe and heard. I’ll guide you in building a relationship with your inner system, helping you connect with your calm, centered self. From there, real healing and lasting change can happen. This work isn’t about pushing or performing—it’s about deep listening, compassion, and letting things unfold naturally.
-
IFS can help you feel more at peace with yourself by increasing your self-awareness in a really meaningful way. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or confused by your thoughts and emotions, you’ll start to understand where they’re coming from and what they need.
This work helps you notice the different parts of you that show up in everyday life, like the part that gets anxious, the one that shuts down, or the one that tries to hold it all together. As we get to know those parts, you’ll learn how to respond to yourself with more compassion and clarity. That’s when things start to shift because when you understand yourself better, you can move through life with more ease and confidence.
